Description
DC4000 – GSM / GPRS Communicator with RS485 and Euridis communication
DC4000-R – GSM / GPRS Communicator with RS485 communication
The DC4000 communicator is used for remote reading and parameterisation of real-time power meters via the GSM / GPRS network.
The communicator communicates via the IEC62056-21 or IEC62056-31 protocol (Euridis). The IEC62056-21 protocol uses the RS485 bus, while the IEC62056-31 protocol uses two separate bus eurides without the need for additional hardware (type PK-100).
Outside, the communicator can access the GSM data call (CSD) or TCP / IP protocol over the GPRS connection. The protocols that are used are also IEC62056-21 and -31, and if the request for reading or parameterizing the IEC62056-31 meters via the IEC62056-21 protocol is sent, the communicator will automatically perform the protocol conversion and return the results according to the IEC62056-21 protocol.
The communicator can be parameterized in three ways: GSM, TCP / IP, or locally via RS485 bus. Parameters that can be read or parameterized are the GPRS connection settings (username, password, APN, and port), while only the GSM signal level, hardware and firmware versions can only be read. It is also possible to remotely upgrade the firmware to a newer version. Parameter setting or reading of settings is protected, for each communicator with a unique 16-digit cipher, so that settings can only be accessed by authorized persons.
